Open Studios is back in-person at UrbanGlass! Come gear up for spring and get creative exploring all of the ways glass is around us.

Have you ever noticed all the glass you encounter every day in the city?
From mosaics in the subway to windows in skyscrapers, glass makes our city a more vibrant and exciting place.
Discover the many ways glass art is made at UrbanGlass with an afternoon of free and paid hands-on activities, and exciting demonstrations in our 17,000 sq ft studios.
Sign up for one activity or try them all!
Activities are scheduled every half hour from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm: 11:00 am, 11:30 am, 12:00 pm, 12:30 pm, 1:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm
Advanced registration is required for each activity/time slot you would like to attend, for both free and paid activities.
**No drop-ins! Everyone coming to Open Studios needs to register, including for free activities. Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.**
Proof of vaccination is required for all participants ages 5 and up. Any WHO approved vaccines are accepted as part of the city’s order. Please bring your vaccine record (digital, app, or paper) for a visual check upon arrival.
More info on our covid policies can be found here. Our top priority is keeping our community safe. Due to the spike in cases in NYC, we are asking that all visitors consider getting tested for COVID-19 before coming to UrbanGlass, and if you test positive to remain home.
Paid Activities: Glassblowing Paperweight, Beadmaking, Fused Coaster
FREE Activities: Community Paper Mosaic, Pressed Nature Pendant, Upcycled Planter/Bud Vase
Paperweight Feel the heat as you learn how to sculpt your own swirly color paperweight out of molten glass! One-on-one lesson (ages 12+).
Objects made during the lesson must cool slowly overnight, so please plan to return the following week for pickup, or contact us to arrange shipping for the cost of postage.
