Description

The only U.S. museum devoted to film, television, and digital media. Museum of the Moving Image advances the understanding, enjoyment, and appreciation of the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media. Accessible, innovative, and forward-looking, the Museum presents exhibitions, education programs, significant moving-image works, and interpretive programs, and maintains a collection of moving-image related artifacts. In doing so, the Museum serves a diverse public at its New York City home and online, and provides leadership in its field. Attendance numbers more than 200,000 visitors each year, including 50,000 school children. In January 2011, the Museum reopened after a major expansion and renovation that nearly doubled its size.
