Description
Gosh darn it, we said ANNUAL and we meant it! Last year, with your loving support, we (you!) raised five thousand dollars (5,000) for The Sara Booth Best Editing Award.
Event Details
The winner of the 2019 award is City University Student, Paulina Jurzec, editor of the film, "Dougie." Please join us in congratulating her skill and imaginative talent.
This award allows us to continue to remember and revel in the joyful and amazing spirit of Sara, while paying her beautiful energy forward at her alma mater, the City University of New York. This year, please join us as we continue this celebration of her life, and exclusively screen three very "La Booth" films.
First, we will be screening Ms. Jurzec's film, "Dougie," the winner of the 1st Sara Booth Best Editing Award. Second, we will be screening "Slate," by award winning director (and very dear friend) Carmen Vidal. Third, we will be screening "Urban Renewal is People Renewal," directed and produced by Mindy Fullilove.
Last year was beautiful. For those that attended or sent prayers/money/good thoughts, it was a very special experience. Let's grab each other's hands (virtually, and hopefully, later, physically) and leap back into this event.
Please expect a night of great films, laughter, some tears, good wine, light food, original art, and the best company money can and cannot buy. We at the "squad" look forward to seeing you.
As always, keep loving, keep fighting,
The LaBooth Memorial Squad
P.S. If you just can't wait until June to watch some of Sara's film's, you can watch some of them through the link https://cargocollective.com/SaraBooth
P.P.S. Happy Birthday, Sara. We love you.
