Summer 2019 is the second annual session of eCamp, a cost-free 5-day entrepreneurship bootcamp, offering students a unique opportunity to develop their Entrepreneurial Mindset. Students will experience the excitement of planning and starting a business. Use of experiential exercises will boost students’ confidence and skill in generating and communicating ideas. Teams will brainstorm ideas, choose a business name and logo, and create marketing strategies. At the end of eCamp, teams will pitch their business ideas to faculty and guests. All participants will receive a non-credit SFC-CFE Certificate upon satisfactory completion of all sessions and assignments. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

eCamp carries no fees for participants and the 5-day schedule is:

Thursday 8/8/19 9:30AM- 4:00PM
Friday 8/9/19 10:00AM-2:00PM
Open to students ages 16-19 years old only. A parental consent form will be emailed to registered minors and a signed copy of the form must be submitted within two (2) weeks or your reservation will be cancelled.
What to Expect:
To learn, through workshops, fieldtrips, mentors and hands-on application, in an environment of teams, all the while having fun.
To grow through the interaction and networking with co- participants, and peer, corporate and faculty mentors.
To experience the excitement, challenges, and opportunities of developing a concept into a workable application that creates social and financial value.
eCamp activities will include a trip to a Brooklyn-based business incubator, guest lectures from NY-based entrepreneurs, and a team competition with gift cards as prizes- first place $150, second place $75, and audience favorite $25. Additionally, each student will receive a logo T-shirt. and a bag.
Students will learn…..
- to recognize the characteristics and behaviors of the Entrepreneurial Mindset, and gain some insights as to how to acquire those characteristics and behaviors;
-how to explore their own entrepreneurial/intrepreneurial interests and aptitudes;
- concepts of brand building and design thinking; basic skills required to start, manage, and grow a new venture.
