Please join us this year for our first annual Soca Run 5K !
Event Details
Our 5K will feature Soca music, a music genre associated with joy and bliss, as the backdrop of your running experience. Soca music will be played throughout the event to highlight that running and dancing to soca can give you great cardiovascular endurance and be the foundation to a healthy, happy lifestyle. We wish to educate our community about the importance of health and wellness within a fun and engaging event.
THIS YEAR, PROCEEDS FROM THE RUN WILL BE DONATED TO HELP SEND 45 SCHOLAR ATHLETES FROM THE CENTRAL BROOKLYN SOCCER CLUB (CBSC) TO COMPETE IN ONE OF THE WORLDS MOST PRESTGIOUS YOUTH SOCCER TOURNAMENTS KNOWN AS CHAMPIONS IN GAUTENG, SOUTH AFRICA.
With your help, we can ensure that each scholar athlete has an opportunity to travel to South Africa to show their talent on the world stage. Having this international exposure provides these youth with the potential of academic scholarships and other career opportunites in the future.
Our Soca Run 5K will also showcase different health and wellness companies who are experts in the field. These companies will provide information, products and tools to support runners, families and youth with developing wellness routines.
This will be a fun event and we invite you to run with us in the Soca Run 5K!
