Our Slam Series will continue to powerhouse poets, with a special shine on the Boogie down Bronx as well as curate a safe and productive space for artists. We will also continue to curate community based partnerships in addition to our slams!

WE'RE BACK ON OCTOBER 24th!

For the past THREE years we made history by creating three of the first ever Bronx-based slam teams. This year our team completed for an 8 week curated artistic fellowship AND performed as the headliners at our first ever Bronx Poetry & Arts Festival, Yerrrrr:Issa Festival onAugust 10th!



Join us every THIRD Thursday of the month this season for that Bodak Yellow / Salsa Sabor!

Sign ups and Doors at 7pm
7-7:30pm: Open Mic
7:30-9:00pm: Slam
8 Slam Slots. (3, 3-minute poems)
First come, first served.
$10 Admission.

Denisse Michelle Cotto Reyes is a Puerto Rican writer and performer. Denisse received her bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Theatre and Media and Society. In 2009 she was an Urban Word Spoken Word finalist at the Apollo Theater. She’s Won the Gold and Silver Key Medal from Scholastic Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. In 2010, she won the writing competition for Random House. Denisse also worked with best selling author Caroline Kennedy and editor Gretchen Young to select poems for her Anthology "Poems By Heart" published in 2013, where one of Denisse collaborative poem with her peers got published making her a published poet. The collaboration was featured in Oprah's OMagazine titled “Helping Young Poets Find their Voice.” This led to a Disney Channel News Segment Interview along with Caroline Kennedy with Disney Channel’s star Laura Marano for Disney 365. Denisse has taught poetry at the Geneva Community Center to young girls and to adults at DreamYard Project as part of their Professional Development. She's performed at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Bowery Poetry Club, The Apollo Theater, Project X and more. She currently works at DreamYard Project and lives in the Bronx with her newborn daughter, Lucero Maya.
