Jeanne Marie Boes, a native New Yorker, is a singer/pianist with an extensive, and unique repetoire of original songs; ranging from pop ballads, standards and story songs, to folk, blues and jazz. Growing up exposed to such artists as Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland, she developed an early love for the quality of a song- to the phrasing, the tone and mood, to the arrangements and beautiful melodies. Though she did try and keep up with the up-and-coming talents of the day such as Celine Dion and Christina Aguilera. At around age five, she began to learn piano by ear, tinkling with the keys and playing short tunes. She later, thanks to her parents focusing on her growing interest, took lessons and learned how to read music. At age nine, she began singing. This lead to countless talent shows, contests and school performances. For the past five years, she has been winning the hearts of audiences in and around New York City with her straight-foward, passionate vocals and innate musicality. When one is asked to describe her "sound" words like honest, poignant and charming are offered. When one is asked if there is another performer she "sounds like," invariably, the answer is "no."
